We Shall All See His Face
Revelation 1 | December 13 – December 19, 2023
Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me…
~ Revelation 1:12
God gave the apostle John a gift like no other—the revelation of Jesus Christ, and the things that are to come. This prophetic revelation is an unveiling of God’s completion of events, the finalizing of His plan for our redemption.
In Revelation 1:7, John gives us a glimpse of one such coming event—the return of our Lord.
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him.
Equally incredible, John was gifted a vision of Jesus Christ in all His heavenly glory.
Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me…one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters…and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.
The anticipation of Christ’s triumphant return is pivotal in the life of every believer. He is coming again; John, even Christ Himself, assures us of that! And in His mighty hands are the keys to eternal life with Him in heaven, or eternity without Him in Hades. Let that revelation be your guide. Let it serve as your impetus for spirit-filled living until that glorious day comes.
Dear Lord,
We eagerly await your return, that moment when you take us to be with you.
Until then, empower us to tell others of the joy that is to come.
~ AMEN
